Perimeter and Area
Perimeter measures around the object.
Area measures inside the object.
Perimeter
All you need to do with perimeter is measure all the sides of your object. The units of measurement can be anything from inches to kilometres (which means that diagrams and pictures will not always be actual sized drawings).
Some diagrams are easy to work out the perimeter because they tell you how long each side is and you just add them all up.
Some diagrams are tricky because they tell you all the information you need but you need to work out some missing sides.

Regardless of if there are missing sides or not, make sure when you write your answer you tell them the units of measurement (cm, km, m, inches etc.)
