Division just means sharing an amount between groups or
people.
Most of the time everyone will get the same amount BUT if you have bits left over you can’t keep sharing so you leave it left over and this is called a remainder.
Remember division means that all people get the same amount.
The method most people use to solve this is called the bus stop method. This just helps you look at one part at a time.
If when you look at your first number there is already a remainder that’s ok. Just take what is left over to the next number. These are still remainders but doesn’t mean there will be one at the end of the question.
