bidmas
Bidmas is fantastic.
Follow the rules and it is easy to get the right answer so long as you follow ALL the rules in the right order.
Which do I do first?
B is for brackets which you just looked at. Whatever is inside the brackets is what you do first regardless of what type of question is inside the brackets.
I is for indices – square or cube your number
D is for division
M is for multiplication
A is for addition
S is for subtraction
TIP!
1. Solve the brackets but don’t then work it out from left to right. You must still complete it in order
2. That also applies to having more than one instruction for that letter. (I’ll explain in a moment)
3. BIDMAS is also linked to Algebra (same technique) but you can do BIDMAS without Algebra
(Was just letting you know!)
So let’s see how it all works together.
